Alturki Holding, the leading Saudi family business and investor, has signed two MOUs to support youth and women empowerment initiatives under its community impact program ‘Athar’.
Under the first MOU signed with Khobar based Robot Academy, the company will sponsor an initiative to train 100 talented students in robotics, in collaboration with the General Directorate of Education Eastern Province.
A 16-hour training course, hosted by the Academy, will introduce the participants to most recent technologies in robotics design. Under the guidance of highly skilled trainers the students will get a chance to closely observe and learn robot building and programming along with the concepts and processes that are needed for the creation of intelligent technology.
The second MOU signed by the company is to support the “Tahadath Biyadek (Speak With your Hands) initiative by “Ofoq” the association for the development and rehabilitation of girls, based in the Eastern Province.
The program aims to qualify 15 sign-language interpreters in communication with people having hearing impairments. Consisting of motivational sessions, enrichment meetings, and field tasks, the intensive 45-hour program aims to enhance the interpreters’ knowledge of the Arabic Sign Language Dictionary, promote sign language culture, and integrate the hearing impaired into mainstream society. The qualifying interpreters will be licensed by the Saudi Association for Hearing Impairment.
