The Eastern Province Municipality revealed the launch of its first experience in dealing with street landings, as it seeks to reach the best ways to address streets defects.

Feb 2020: Saudi Readymix has recently started supplying Flowable Fill or what is called Controlled Low Strength Material (CLSM) to some of the Eastern Province Municipality road construction projects.

The Eastern Province Municipality launched a leading initiative to apply the most sustainable construction technologies to eliminate roadways defects and streets landings across the region, which in turn could save millions of Saudi Riyals spent annually in road repairs.

(CLSM) is an economical alternative to compacted granular fill considering the savings in labor costs, equipment, and time. Since it does not need manual compaction, the size of excavation is significantly reduced. Placing flowable fill does not require people to enter an excavation, a significant safety concern.

Managing Director of Saudi Readymix, Mr. Mohammed Abu Zaid, said, “This solution solves countless issues compared to the traditional methods of road construction, from drainage projects to roadways defect projects. We are proud to be the first to implement Municipality initiative, delivering successful sustainable solutions for our community is in our DNA, and we believe in our ability to provide peace of mind solutions to all our stakeholders across the kingdom “.

Saudi Readymix constantly promotes and encourages sustainable construction projects in Saudi Arabia. Over the years, the company has pioneered many initiatives which are today the established best practices for the industry in Saudi Arabia.

Saudi Readymix is the leading ready-mixed concrete supplier in Saudi Arabia with a network of 33 factories located in various strategic locations throughout the Kingdom. The Company contributes to many ongoing types of research on concrete in collaboration with various academic institutes and organizations and has recently opened its new state-of-the-art Research and Development Center in Dammam.
